Overview:
An Ovarian reserve marker. This test measures the level of anti-Müllerian hormone, a protein produced by cells in the ovarian follicles. It is the most reliable marker of ovarian reserve.
Purpose of the Test
Female fertility assessment. This test is used to assess ovarian reserve and estimate remaining egg supply, investigate fertility concerns, and support planning for assisted reproductive treatment. Also used in the evaluation of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and premature ovarian insufficiency.
